Letos je tomu právě 30 let od doby, kdy vyšlo původně kazetové album Clinics Death od projektu Disharmonic Ballet, další z mnoha počinů zřejmě nejdůležitější a určitě nejaktivnější osobnosti začátků industriální scény u nás, Jaroslava Paláta. Jeho dílo už v 80. letech minulého století, za dob komunistické totality, proniklo i přes hraniční takzvanou „železnou oponu“ (jak příznačný název v souvislosti s naším labelem a konáním) dál na západ a jméno Jaroslav Palát už tehdy znali třeba i členové legendárních Einstürzende Neubauten.

Album Clinics Death je druhým albem Disharmonic Ballet a je také skvělou školou v tom, jak si industriální hudba dokáže vystačit bez klasických hudebních struktur. Na albu čeká k poslechu celkem 7 tracků. Ty jsou postaveny především na monotoních opakujících se plochách, kde třeba rytmické sekvence a další prvky tvoří nejrůznější zvuky, tvořené vykuchanými elektrickými kytarami, dvěma čtyřstopými magnetofony, množstvím mikrofonů, snímačů, krabiček a nekonečných klubek šňůr, propojených do nemožných kombinací.

Teprve další poslechy povolí proniknout dál do těchto struktur a užívat si i různých detailů, se kterými si Jaroslav Palát uměl hrát. Celkově převažuje potemnělá atmosféra, ale najdeme zde i náznaky tvůrcova smyslu pro nadsázku, třeba v tracku, kde si hraje s různě modulovaným mužským smíchem. Ovšem pozor! Hovoříme samozřejmě o nadsázce v industriálním prostředí a o tvorbě jednoho z industrialistů největších.

Celé album si tak drží svou potemnělou stránku a také syrovost danou tehdejšími technickými a zvukovými možnostmi a vlastní tehdejší industrialní scéně, která pracovala přeci jen s více „old school“ a „špinavými“ prostředky, než tomu mnohdy bývá dnes.

It has been thirty years now, when the MC album called Clinics Death of the Disharmonic Ballet project was originally released, next of many from maybe the most important and surely the most active persona from the beginning of czech industrial scene, Jaroslav Palat himself. His work was able to cross „The iron curtain“ (how symptomatic for our project and the label) even in 80's and because of that he was able to make his name known among the bands like Einstürzende Neubauten.

Clinics Death is the second album of Disharmonic Ballet and it's a great in the way, how it shows the fact, that industrial music doesn't need the classical music structures. On the album you may hear 7 tracks in total. The are based mostly on monotonous repetitive scapes, where for example rhythmical sequences and other elements produce various sounds, made by prepared electric guitars, two four track tape recorders, plenty of microphones, pickups, pedals and infinite number of cables connected in most impossible way.

After longer listening your are finally able to go into structures and enjoy various details so well picked by Jaroslav Palat. Generally you will encounter with dark atmosphere, however you will be able to find there small glimpses of the composer's sense of humor, for example in the track, where you may here different modulations of the human laugh. Of course the humor is meant to be within the industrial space and in the creation of one of the biggest industrial artist.

All the album still keeps it's original rawness from the past, which is mainly influenced by available studio equipment at the industrial scene in the late 80's, which really worked with more „dirty“ and „raw“ elements then it does today.
