Přesto však můžeme mluvit o zásadních letech 1982 – 1983, kdy, krom jiného, dochází k prvnímu uměleckému sblížení Jaroslava Paláta a Slávka Kwi, o kterém jsme se snažili napsat vše, co si sám Slávek pamatuje již v našich minulých releasech z tohoto období, a právě tehdy vzniká i deska Quarantaine, dílo vydané tentokrát pod hlavičkou Disharmonic Ballet a nikoliv tedy pod stejnojmenným projektem obou protagonistů.

It’s very difficult to say today, who has been the first one composing unpleasant sounds under the banner of industrial music in Czechoslovakia. We set many investigations to find out, however as there exists cosmic microwave background beyond which we cannot see, so there is the spring of industrial music hidden beneath the clouds of oblivion and imprinted on old tapes covered by dust in the basements of old tenements. In the other hand we can still speak about formative years 1982-1983 when the first artistic collaborations between Jaroslav Palát and Slávek Kwi occured. We tried to write down everything about these sessions in our previous releases and it is the very same époque when the Quarantaine tape is made, this time under the name of Jarda Palat’s solo incarnation “Disharmonic Ballet”. Recording sessions of Jarda and Slavek not only resulted in their common project Quarantaine but also some parts of recorded sounds were used on the early tapes of Disharmonic Ballet and solo works of Slavek Kwi too.

Following record is one of the first releases of the Disharmonic Ballet project, and as mentioned above, it contains the first sounds of Jarda Palát and Slávek Kwi. Encircled neurotic loops, noisy insights, metallic crackles, unpleasant rhythms and raw industrial sounds, all these elements form the typical signature of the early music of Disharmonic Ballet and its musical and mechanical deconstruction. Feelings of frustration, loneliness and alienation call for you interest. Dumb palm of communist pack strangling infinite resistance of one man against himself, his époque and conventional usage of those few instruments he was able to reach. Everything plugged to itself, inputs to inputs, outputs to outputs, noises to rhythms, rhythms to noises. Disharmonic Ballet are inviting you to the excursion around destroyed workshops of human emotions and are appealing to you to drink from the rusty spring of Czechoslovakian industrial music.
